The schooner Ardelle launched on July 9, 2011 and had her maiden voyage to Gloucester from Essex in August of the same year. Today, passengers far and wide can join us for a sail on an authentic, traditionally-built Cape Ann vessel out of Gloucester’s historic waterfront. Designed and built by master shipwright Harold Burnham and a devoted crew of craftsmen, our passengers agree that the schooner Ardelle is a delight. Fast and sleek, comfortable and stable, the schooner Ardelle is ideal for a private event or public sail. We sail daily from Maritime Gloucester in the heart of the city. See our calendar here:

During our trips we share our knowledge about our region’s fishing, shipbuilding, and cultural heritage and our communities’ schooner legacy. Our passengers also get the opportunity to learn from Capt. Harold Burnham, who is renowned for his shipbuilding skills in the traditional Essex style.

Please ask us about student trips and educational programs, too. For more information please call Harold Burnham at 978-290-7168 or email us at info@schoonerardelle.com.
